This YouTube video is amazing … the horse is being ridden bareback in what looks like a headcollar with reins attached to the noseband and no bit. (You can see this clearly right at the end of the video when there is a close-up of the horses head.) When I was sent the link I assumed it would be a few 20m circles and a bit of leg yield but this video includes tempi changes (two-time and one-time), half pass (trot and canter), pirouettes.
Its very impressive but its not the bareback that impresses me … its the headcollar with no bit…
