More Success for Dressage and Show Jumping in the build up to the Olympics

All international competitions are of interest at the moment as all the rider compete with Olympic qualification in mind:

  • Richard Davison & Hiscox Artemis won the Grand Prix Special at the World Dressage Masters in Munich with a personal best score of 73.46%. They also competed in the Grand Prix where their score was even higher – 74.40% – but this was only good enough for 4th place in this class. Will these fantastic scores be good enough for the Olympic selection panel. Unofficially the three team competitors are known but since Team GBR has qualified a team and one individual – Richard must be a very strong contender to participate in the Olympics as Team GBR’s individual competitor.
  • Nick Skelton & Big Star jumped a clear round in the jump off to win the 1.60m competition in Hamburg. Five riders were clear after the first two rounds and there were only two clear rounds in the jump off and Nick’s time was just over a second faster than Rolf Goran Bentsson and Casall La Silla.
