I have been trying to find information from the BBC website to show when they will broadcast Olympics equestrian events. It is proving difficult to find this information but I wanted to share with you information I have just discovered about what is for me the most eagerly awaited competition of the Olympics.
The Olympics Dressage Freestyle to music which will decide the Olympic Individual Dressage medals will be broadcast live by the BBC on the red button channel 301.
Update 9/8/12: The BBC will be broadcasting the Dressage Freestyle from 2pm to 4.30pm live on Freeview’s red button according to the Freeview Programme Guide. If you are near a computer then you can watch the early tests on the BBC website.
The only caveat I add is that the BBC do indicate that schedules are subject to change – so lets hope that there aren’t any last minute changes: Dates and times of all Olympics equestrian competitions

Results for the Dressage Freestyle to music will be updated at frequent intervals on Horse Clips.

My interpretation of the information on the BBC website is that the BBC will be broadcasting Olympics coverage in a number of Olympics programmes during the day on BBC1, BBC1 HD and BBC3 every day and these programmes will broadcast highlights of the Olympics competitions on that day. In other words there will be equestrian coverage but it may not be continuous and may be interrupted to broadcast other sports.
However, for those with cable or satellite or an internet connected computer the BBC will br broadcasting all sessions of all Olympics competitions live over 24 broadcast channels. So these are the best solution to watch un-interrupted coverage of your favourite equestrian discipline.
I believe that the coverage of the Olympics Dressage Freestyle on the red button will not be interrupted – I hope.
